I’m happy to support Tracy Kelley for Mashpee Select Board and urge those who don’t know her to attend her “meet and greet” on April 17 and find out for yourself why she deserves your vote.
Ms. Kelley grew up in Mashpee and treasures its unique character and natural resources. She will fairly represent all of the population and the policies that are best for Mashpee’s future.
As an accomplished linguist and educator, Ms. Kelley will use her knowledge to help Mashpee find workable solutions for equitable housing and environmental conservation. An extra benefit is that she will attract a younger generation to become involved in local policies.
A vote for Tracy Kelley is a vote for Mashpee’s future!

Long ago, before the town was incorporated in 1870, the Mashpee Wampanoag and a strong sense of community maintained this place for hundreds if not thousands of years. We lived off the land and shared with our neighbors, as it was considered selfish to care for just yourself or family. The community hunted together, prayed together, celebrated together and above all we thrived together with each other and the land we call home today.
In today’s society we should all be concerned with the various issues facing us locally, nationally and internationally. Unfortunately, many of us who have lived here for multiple generations have seen and witnessed the change here in Mashpee, with some being good and others being bad. One thing has remained and that’s the constant threats to our environment, community and the future. I’ve sat back and watched firsthand as a select few in town run everything with the “good old boys” network. It has been one of the greatest threats because it divides us as a community. It seems these days that the same people serve on various committees, commissions and/or hold some type of political office for personal gain. This goes against everything we stand for as a community and until we address it, sadly it will continue to happen unless we take action. One of the things we can do, however, is exercise our rights and voices by participating in local governance such as attending town meetings and joining town commissions and committees, but most important, casting your vote.
The future of Mashpee is on the ballot.
For this reason and others, I support Tracy Kelley for select board. No, it is not because she is Wampanoag, as I am sure this same group will say “we already have one Indian on the board and we can’t have two!”
This mentality, my friends and neighbors, is racism and division at its finest. We vote for people based on qualifications, values, actions and what they can offer us all collectively. Tracy was born and raised here in this community and understands as a working single mother the many challenges we have ahead of us. I want a leader from the community that has no prior town involvement, who has an open mind and does not have a hidden agenda. We have the opportunity to elect a leader who will serve all of us and not only a few.
That leader is Tracy Kelley.
I urge my fellow friends, neighbors and relatives to join me in voting for Tracy Kelley for select board on May 10, election day.
Ahâpây (humbly),

Tracy Kelley is a select board candidate for the Town of Mashpee this May. Born and raised in Mashpee and a proud product of Mashpee Public Schools, Tracy received her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and her master's from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
A mother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece and aunty, Tracy is thorough and compassionate, thoughtful and patient, driven and studious, and not simply smart, but Mashpee smart!
Tracy will bring viewpoints to the select board that will differ from the past, with the energy of a 40-year-old who can relate and perhaps champion the perspectives of that age demographic here in Mashpee. I believe her presence within the highest level of our town leadership will provoke meaningful discussion and thorough deliberation regarding all town matters.
Personally, I am excited to see her achieve her potential, as she works hard to earn support for election to the select board.
All things considered, she may even inspire a new era of town residents to become further engaged in governance.

Letter of Endorsement
It takes a certain amount of courage, mixed with strong self awareness and a touch of humility to seek public office. I have complete confidence that Tracy Kelley will serve the residents of Mashpee as a select board member with the utmost in integrity and faithfulness.
Be assured that Tracy will have the best interest of all residents and taxpayers as her top priority. I have known Tracy for most of her life and I have witnessed her navigate her own path successfully.
From my perspective, I too served on a governing board over the course of three decades. It is no small commitment. When I learned of Tracy’s intent to run for office I felt a strong sense of pride.
I applaud Tracy as an intelligent woman and mother who is committed to balancing everyday life with her family, with her work, from the soccer and baseball fields, to her home life, with the important town matters which will require her undivided attention, equally.
Mashpee residents, friends and family, I ask you to join me in supporting and voting for Tracy Kelly for Mashpee Select Board during mail-in or early voting periods, or on May 10, Election Day.
